Welcome to EUREC Agency

The European Renewable Energy Research Centres Agency was established as a European Economic Interest Grouping in 1991 to strengthen and rationalise the European research, demonstration and development efforts in all renewable energy technologies. As an independent member-based association, it incorporates 43 prominent research groups from all over Europe.

EUREC members' research fields include all renewable energy technologies (wind, biomass, small hydro, marine, geothermal, photovoltaics, solar thermal power and solar buildings). Our members also conduct research into supporting technologies such as energy efficiency, storage, distribution and integration. Moreover, they study the social and economic aspects relevant to renewable energy.

460 M EUR to be taken from FP7 for ITER

A further 400 M EUR will come from other parts of the EU Budget. The EC is giving itself until November to put forward a solution for the remaining shortfall of 540 M EUR. Details of the EC's plans are here.

EU budget to be raided for ITER bail-out

Various reports in the media (EV, BBC) have suggested that the EU’s liability for 1.4 bn EUR of additional costs in 2012-2013 will be met with money diverted from the Competitiveness for Growth and Employment heading of the EU budget. This budget heading funds the Framework Programme for Research, supplying money to renewable energy research and demonstration projects.

International Conference - Biofuels Cooperation: Latin America and Europe

The EC unveils a new plan to simplify the procedures for taking part in EU-funded research projects

On the 29 April 2010 the European Commission published a new Communication entitled "Simplifying the Implementation of the Research Framework Programmes".
Alongside measures and options for making participation in FP7 more transparent and attractive, the Communication introduces some interesting ideas which would amend the entire regulatory framework of the EU research funding programmes.
