 EUREC Membership Conditions

At this moment EUREC Agency brings together 43 research centres, renowned for their expertise in the field of renewable energy, from almost every EU Members State.  A very large part of ongoing renewable energy research in Europe is taking place at EUREC member organisations.
To ensure that EUREC grows in a controlled way towards a representative association of high quality research centres, a series of criteria for new Members has been defined.

 

Criteria for EUREC Agency Membership

  •  the research group should be proposed by at least 3 EUREC Members (1 from the same country as the proposed group, 2 from an other EU country)
  • only single research entities can be accepted, not complete universities.
  • the research facilities should be visited by a EUREC delegation
  • the research group should have at least 10 persons active in the field of renewable R & D 
  • the research group should have existed in the same form for at least 5 years,  to ensure the stability of the group.
     
Obligations of EUREC Agency Members

  • Members are bound by the Articles of Association and the By-laws of EUREC Agency EEIG
  • Members pay a yearly Membership Fee. This fee is decided by the College of Members. Currently it depends upon the size of the Institute (number of full time scientists working in the field of renewable energy).
     
This fee, together with project income (EC projects) and a limited own income is necessary to finance the activities of EUREC.
