The European Commission supports numerous renewable energy research projects in all renewable technologies. These projects are typically carried out by European consortia composed of R&D and industry actors.  EU research projects are usually funded under the Framework Programmes for Research and Technology (FP).  The current FP6 is running until the end of 2006. Below you find an overview of what projects are actually being funded by the FP for each of the renewable energy technologies.
