PROMOTION AND MARKET STIMULATION OF RES IN EU AND CANDIDATE COUNTRIES RES IN EU & CC
EUREC Agency participates in this Commission sponsored project co-ordinated by EREC. In order to enhance the further market up-take of RES within the European Union and its Candidate Countries, the following activities are foreseen:
- Status and prospects of RE technologies today
Building upon already existing studies 15 to 20 page overviews of recent technological and market development for each of the following RE sectors will be prepared: biomass, PV, small hydropower, solar thermal, wind, integration of RES, sustainable buildings. These overviews will be grouped together to a comprehensive guide. - Review of Policy Initiatives within the EU
An overview of current policy initiatives within the European Union will be prepared, taking all levels of decision making (EU, national, regional and local) into account. On the basis of the gathered information and its analysis, proposals for new initiatives at EU level will be developed in close collaboration with the European Commission. - Status of RE development as well as review of existing framework conditions for RES in Candidate Countries
An overview of the current RE development as well as a review of existing legislation, support mechanisms and policy initiatives will be developed for the Candidate Countries which are supposed to join the Union in the first round (Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Estonia, Poland, Cyprus). Flyers for each of the RE sectors will be produced and translated in the local languages of the candidate countries. - Organisation of a RES policy conference
In order to discuss current policy initiatives of the European Commission and to stimulate the further uptake of RES both within the EU as well as in the countries of accession, a high-level policy conference on RES will be organised. - Organisation of workshops in Candidate Countries
In order to best ensure the uptake of RES in the accession countries listed above and to ensure that best use is being made of the achieved results, workshops will be organised in these countries to encourage future policy initiatives for RES.
