DERri Network grants free access to research infrastructure
A call for proposals has opened for teams of scientists to use the research facilities of the 16-member DERRI network (Distributed Energy Resources Research Infrastructure) free of charge. Expenses connected to infrastructure usage and with travel to the infrastructure and accommodation nearby for the team while it works will be covered by the European Commission through the 7th Framework Programme. The next cut-off for evaluating proposals is 30 June 2012. The cut-off after that is 30 November.
More than 20 research teams have taken advantage of this scheme to conduct a wide range of projects since it was launched in 2010.

The applying researchers have to work for organisations from countries of the European Union or Switzerland, Turkey or Israel. The leader of the research team and the majority of the team must work in countries other than where the infrastructure is located. Researchers must have the permission to report their results publicly.
The research programme continuously supports DER research. The next dates for this year are 30 June and 30 November. Applications will be accepted as long as the laboratories have capacity available.
