Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič has described 2016 as ‘the year of delivery’ for the Energy Union. As was made clear in the Commission strategy published in February of this year, meeting the objectives of the Energy Union will require a major contribution from the heating and cooling sector in general and district energy in particular. The Euroheat & Power District Energy Days will provide a high-level forum for policy-makers, industry and civil society to exchange views on how thermal networks can help deliver a smoother energy transition at European, national and local level.
- Tuesday 11 October, 14:00-15:30: "District Heating and Cooling at the Heart of the Energy Union” with keynote speech by Dominique Ristori (Director General for Energy at the European Commission). The panel debate is moderated by Paul Voss (Managing Director at Euroheat & Power).
- Tuesday 11 October, 16:00-17:30: "From vision to practice: District Energy for Sustainable Cities” with panel experts in local authorities sustainability and international institutions. The panel is moderated by Frédéric Boyer (Head of Covenant of Mayors Office at Energy Cities).
