EU Energy Summit 201623 February 2016
The 2nd EU Energy Summit titled What developments for EU Energy Policy in the Wake of COP21, organised by Business Bridge Europe and the European Business Summit (EBS) will take place in Brussels at the Egmont Palace on 23 February 2016. The summit is targeted to a high-level political and business audience and will cover key themes relevant to the energy sector following the COP21 in Paris.
This EU Energy Summit will also come at a crucial time for discussing the future legislations to be adopted by the EU, which will have to deal with the new energy market design, the reinforcement of energy security, the consumer’s role, the increasing share of renewable energy, energy efficiency and savings, safe and low-carbon energy generation, regional cooperation, transparency and governance, internal electricity market design, a resilient gas market, funding of new energy generation and network infrastructures, improvement of research and innovation developments, etc.
Just like the 1st EU Energy Summit, in November 2014, considered a success due to the quality of the debates as well as the high number of participants (an audience of almost 1.000), this new Summit will again bring together representatives of national and European institutions, industry, civil society and media, for public discussion and debate between the main high-level political and industrial decision-makers of the field and all the participants.
