Call launched for new members of EERA Executive Committee

Home / News & Events / Call launched for new members of EERA Executive Committee

A process for selecting the next EERA Executive Committee (ExCo) has been launched. Applications will close on 1 February 2012. Details on the application process are available on the EERA website.

The next ExCo will be in place from April 2012 to April 2014. The ExCo has 15 seats. Current members can re-apply for their seats.

The ExCo is the highest level of EERA’s governance. EERA expects the ExCo members, known as Partners, “to strengthen and promote EERA's activities and underpin the culture of cooperation, which is central to EERA”. ExCo members must each contribute 10 000 EUR per year to help cover the costs of administering EERA.

Once eligibility criteria have been met, the selection is based on a quantitative comparison of the following (as measured on 1 Feb 2012) subject to two constraints related to geographic balance:

  • Total number of staff (person years per year) in energy R&D divided by the score for the applicant with the highest score on this count
  • Total number of staff involved in EERA Joint Programmes divided by the score for the applicant with the highest score on this count
  • Number of thematic areas covered in EERA divided by the score for the applicant with the highest score on this count
