Keith Melton has a broad international experience in research, R&D management, general management, and corporate strategy. Moreover, he has a strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, and their sector.
During its first term, EUREC Agency grew from 45 to 50 members, and has significantly increased its presence in EU co-funded projects, reinforcing its image as the association representing renewable energy research centres in Europe. Keith Melton identifies the finalization of the next R&D programme Horizon 2020 for the period 2014 through 2020 as the main political priority for EUREC Agency to work on in the coming years: “(speaking about HORIZON2020) Superficially it appears that there is a significant increase in Energy spending, but if all current instruments are included in the base then the increase is only around 10%. EUREC is actively making the case for more research investment in energy in general and renewables in particular. We will also continue our efforts to ensure that the appropriate research priorities are addressed and the whole innovation chain is nurtured”.
Rainer Janssen from WIP Renewable Energies has been elected as Vice President.
